"Contact" is a term used by the Department of Public Safety for the purpose of escalating suspension periods in DWI circumstances.

Texas Transportation Code ยง 524.001(3) defines a "Contact" as

  1. Conviction for intoxicated offense
  2. Refusal to submit to the taking of a specimen (breath or blood test refusal)
  3. BAC test that shows a result greater than 0.080
