Felony Drug Conviction
From the Law Office of Alison Grinter in Dallas, Texas
Felony drug convictions are subject to some special consequences that other felony convictions don't automatically carry. Namely, disqualification from certain Federal benefits.
Anyone convicted of a drug-related felony is disqualified from receiving any aid through the following programs:
- Food Stamps
- TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) also called Welfare
- Federal Housing Assistance under Section 8. In fact, any drug-related activity goes on in Federally assisted housing, the family can be evicted
- Student Loans or any Federal Student Aid including Pell Grants.
